PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a wood product such as a tray-shaped vessel remarkably attractive and fragrant to give a user a feeling of elegance and retain its strength without marring its good appearance in the deformed part. SOLUTION: A tray-shaped vessel V has a bottom part, a sloped side part and a flange part. The vessel body M of the tray-shaped vessel V is formed of a fancy veneer 4, a woven cloth 5 and fancy veneers 6, 7 all of these parts being mutually bonded. The fancy veneers 4, 6, 7 are laminated over each other in such a manner that their fiber directions are sequentially orthogonal. On the surface of the fancy veneer 4, a pressed maple leaf 3 is arranged at three spots and one of these pressed maple leaves 3 is arranged at the bottom corner. On the top surface of the fancy vessel 4, a transparent and airtight polystyrene sheet 2 is laminated with an adhesive over the entire surface so that the pressed maple leaf 3 is sandwiched between the fancy veneer 4 and the polystyrene sheet 2. The sheet 2 and the pressed maple leaf 3 are also bonded with the adhesive.
