PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely convey an object to be conveyed to a given destination position without dropping when the object to be conveyed is conveyed and to regularly stack the objects to be conveyed on an object to be precedingly conveyed without the occurrence of inclination. SOLUTION: This clamping device comprises a pair of nipping plates 1 and 1a relatively movably supported; and a moving means to independently move the nipping plates 1 and 1a, and an object 3 to be conveyed is nipped between both sides by moving inward a pair of the nipping plates 1 and 1a. In a so formed clamping device, support pieces 4 to support the under surface of the object to be conveyed are situated at the lower edges of the inner surfaces of the nipping plates 1a and 1a and press bodies 5 to cause the two side edges of the nipping plates 1 and 1a to match with and press down the sides of the object to be conveyed with a specified pressure are pivotally mounted.
