Paired healds have deformations (14,14',14,14') on the side opposite the open side of the ends (19,28), placed either at the end or near it. The deformation can be a curve, a perforation or a bend covering about a third of the width in order to provide some longitudinal resilience. An Independent claim is also included for a corresponding arrangement for healds with closed ends where the deformations are placed on the outer side of the pair.
