PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a choke coil, of which space factor can be improved and which can be made compact. SOLUTION: A planar coil 10 comprising a copper foil pattern 7 formed on an insulation substrate 8 is assembled in a core, having a closed magnetic circuit structure comprising an almost square pot-type core 1 and a plate-type core 2 acting as a lid for the pot-type core 1, and terminal lead parts r1 and r2 are led out from at least upper corners, and then they are connected with U-shaped terminals 5 for surface-mounting, thereby forming a choke coil.
