PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shade for a luminaire capable of being compactly stored when carried/transported, and capable of being easily spread when used. SOLUTION: This shade for a luminaire has a plurality of side walls 2, hinge means 3, 4, 5 for connecting side edges parts of the side walls to each other, and reinforcements 20 and luminaire locks 10 to maintain the form of the shade when it is spread. The reinforcements 20 each act as a bridge to interlink bottom zones 6 of neighboring side walls 2, thereby holding the flat form of bottom edge parts of the shade when it is spread. The luminaire locks 10 engage with top zones 7 of the side walls, thereby holding the flat form of top edge parts of the shade when it is spread. The side walls 2 are compactly put one on another or folded together bending/stretching or bendingly deforming the hinge means 3, 4, 5, or separated from each other to be spread out into the usage form of the shade. The reinforcements 20 and the luminaire locks 10 hold bottom edges and top edges of the shade to maintain the form of the shade spread. The shade for the luminaire is deformed into a compact, thin, and plate-like form when it is carried/transported, and is spread into a voluminous shade form when it is used, and accordingly, not only the work such as handling, packing, and storing the shade for carriage/transport is extremely simplified, but the volume of the shade in transport is sharply reduced.
