PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a linear movement apparatus and an information-recording/ reproducing apparatus which can damp vibrations generated from a driving source and can remove effects of vibrations. SOLUTION: This apparatus has a pulse motor 74, guide mechanisms 71 and 72 for guiding an optical head 70 to a linear movement path, transmission mechanisms 75-77 for transmitting a driving force of the pulse motor 74 to linearly move the optical head 70 under the guidance of guide mechanisms 71 and 72, and a vibration isolation mechanism 80 interposed between the optical head 70 and transmission mechanisms and having a vibration isolation characteristic in a movement direction of the optical head 70.
