PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an onboard electronic controller with a self-monitoring function capable of reducing costs and being made small-sized without lowering a fail-safe function. SOLUTION: A monitoring means 5 has a 1st processing means 20 which performs prescribed processing to information of a sensor 1 and transmits it to a main controlling means 4 and a 1st comparing means 22 which inputs information from the means 4, compares it with 1st processing information and outputs a 1st inhibiting signal when there is difference between them, the means 4 has a 2nd processing means 11 which also outputs sensor 1 information to the means 5 in the case of operating a controlled variable from the sensor 1 information and a 2nd comparing means 12 which inputs the 1st processing information and outputs a 2nd inhibiting signal when the sensor information is compared with the both and there is difference, and an inhibiting means 6 which stops an actuator 2 with the 1st and 2nd inhibiting signals is provided to constitute this controller.
