METHOD FOR DISPLAYING ELECTRONIC MAP, RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time for waiting the data request of map information by utilizing image information as map information, simultaneously transferring a map image picture being larger than a map display area on a user terminal and utilizing it during movement. SOLUTION: The image picture constituted of color information at every dot being larger than a picture size and information related to the map are received by an information receiving means 201. Only a prescribed rectangular area is segmented and displayed by a segmenting and displaying means 202 from the received map image picture. Then a superimposing display means 203 superimposes information related to the map at a prescribed position on the map image in accordance with the geographical position of information and displays it. Information on a superimposed screen is selected and relating information and detailed information are retrieved by a display/retrieval means 204 concerning the selected information. The retrieved display area is moved vertically in left and right by a moving means 205 to update the segmented area and superimposition information.
