PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent entry of dust into the inside of a disc jacket inserted into FDD. SOLUTION: A shield member 33 is provided along the external circumference of a spindle motor 60. The shield member 33 covers the external circumference of the spindle motor 60 except for the part to access a medium of the media jacket with a magnetic head 13. The shield member 33 comes closely into contact with the media jacket under such condition that the media jacket is accommodated within the FDD. In view of enhancing a degree of close contact condition, the shield member 33 may be formed of a flexible material (for example, sponge or resin) that may be placed in close contact with the media jacket.
