PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the irregular density or the halation of sensitive material by constituting a recorder so that the area of a drum where the sensitive material is not held is not irradiated with light in an optical part while the sensitive material on which a dot image is recorded is held on the drum. SOLUTION: Whether or not the image recorded area of the sensitive material exists at the irradiating position of a laser beam emitted from the optical unit 32 is judged by a CPU being a control part 100 based on information on the leading edge position of the sensitive material from a leading edge position sensor S9 and the counted value of a pulse signal from a rotary encoder 37. In a period when the sensitive material does not exist at the irradiating position of the laser beam, control is performed to always output an exposure intensity data value at which laser beam sources 320 to 322 do not emit light at all to a lookup table(LUT) part concerning all the laser beam sources 320 to 322 as the exposure intensity data inputted in respective drivers for driving the laser beam sources 320 to 322. Therefore, the exposure of a pseudo image on the sensitive material by stray light is prevented.
