PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a paper-like sheet containing a large amount of a highly water absorbing fiber produced by a wet process and to provide a method for producing the paper-like sheet. SOLUTION: This highly water absorbing fiber-containing sheet comprises >40 wt.% and <=95 wt.% of a highly water absorbing fiber produced by a wet process. This method for producing the highly water absorbing fiber- containing sheet comprises a paper made of a slurry containing at least pulp and the highly water absorbing fiber at pH <=5, drying the sheet and adjusting the pH of paper to >=6.
