PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition excellent in processability and exhibiting durability in low volatility, oil resistance and the like by compounding a vinyl chloride resin and, as a plasticizer, a compound containing a specific amount or more of 1,2-butanediol dibenzoate. SOLUTION: The composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a vinyl chloride resin having incorporated therein 10-200 pts.wt. of a compound containing at least 95 wt.% of 1,2-butanediol dibenzoate as a plasticizer, and if necessary, a stabilizer, an ultraviolet absorber, a filler, an antioxidant, an antistat, a lubricating agent, a surfactant, a colorant and the like. 1,2-Butanediol dibenzoate is synthesized by an esterification reaction or transesterification reaction of 1,2-butanediol with benzoic acid or a benzoate. As the vinyl chloride resin are exemplified vinyl chloride homopolymers, copolymers of vinyl chloride with a comonomer such as ethylene, propylene, acrylonitrile, vinyl acetate, maleic acid or an ester thereof or the like.
