FLUORESCENT LAMP AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp and its manufacturing method capable of sufficiently setting off a part to accommodate mercury amalgam grains and suppressing certainly the movement of grains into a discharge tube. SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp is composed of a glass tube 1 equipped with phosphor layer 2 on the inner surface, a sealing part 6 to seal the glass tube 1, an accommodation part 8 in communication with the inside of the glass tube 1 and having an inner space isolated from the outside, and mercury amalgam grains 7 accommodated in the accommodation part 8. The sealing part 6 is furnished with a through hole to generate communication from the glass tube 1 to the accommodation part 8, wherein the part of the through hole situated inside the sealing part 6 has at least partially an inside diameter smaller than the diameter of mercury amalgam grains 7.
