PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To printing plate make at a desired position of a stencil base sheet assembly. SOLUTION: A stencil base sheet assembly 1 having a stencil base sheet on one surface of a frame is positioned in a first inserting passage 10 for guiding so as to be inserted in a predetermined direction. An original holder 2 having a cover sheet for holding an original between the holder 2 and a mount plate on one surface of the mount plate is positioned in a second inserting passage 40 for guiding so as to be inserted in a predetermined direction. Then, the base sheet of the assembly 1 is held between a first conveying roller 17 and a thermal head, and the holder is held between a second conveying roller 41 and an image sensor. This positioned and held position becomes a reference position of starting reading as a reference position of starting writing. The rollers 17, 47 are driven to deliver the assembly 1 and the holder 2 from the passages 10, 40, and writing and reading are executed.
