METHOD OF EXTRACTING SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURE FOR MOTION ESTIMATION

PURPOSE: A method of extracting a significant structure for motion estimation is provided to perform motion estimation for judging the correct motion of an object. CONSTITUTION: A frame difference region between the current image and the next image is extracted(100). An edge is detected from the extracted difference region(200). Edge grouping is performed when there is no edge continuity in order to make the detected edge signal accurate(300). A block structure is extracted from the result of the edge grouping, to generate a significant structure(400). Accurate motion estimation is carried out using the significant structure.
