PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a general user to easily confirm setting information on a data processor which receives input data from outside and outputs the data in an acknowledgable state according to the previously set setting information. SOLUTION: This printer controller 1 receives document data sent from a computer 4 through an I/O port 5 under the control of a CPU 7 and stores the document data in a receiving buffer in a RAM 8. After the document data are stored, the CPU 7 executes an emulation program stored in a ROM 6 to read and analyze the document data and expands them into an image in a page buffer 8b according to the setting information. This image is sent to a printer engine 2 through an I/O port 5 and a document corresponding to the document data is printed on a form as a recording medium.
