PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent stain at the bottom part of a recording head at the time of wiping due to staining of a wiper, by always keeping the wiper for cleaning the recording head in a clean state. SOLUTION: A wiper 14 is provided on a substrate of an ink-jet printer, reciprocally movably outside the drawing area as well as in the moving range of a recording head 52. In the case the recording head 52 is moved in the wiper 14 moving path, the wiper 14 is moved while being contacted with a bottom part of the recording head 52 such that a nozzle 52a of the recording head 52 or the bottom surface in the vicinity thereof is wiped out by the wiper 14. A wiper cleaner 79 is provided in the moving path of the wiper 14 so that the wiper 14 is contacted with the wiper cleaner 79 for wiping out stain of the wiper 14.
