PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer which urges a user to replace an ink felt and prevents ink from flowing out of the ink felt by informing a replacement timing for the ink felt. SOLUTION: In an ink jet printer 1, ink is sprayed to an ink felt 14 to prevent minute nozzles formed to a head 16 from clogging. A control part counts the number of spray times of the ink to the ink felt 14. It is displayed to a display part that it is a replacement timing for the ink felt 14 when the count value reaches a predetermined value. The user can hence recognize the replacement timing for the ink felt 14 and quickly replace the ink felt 14.
