PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an igniter for a gas grill in which fuel gas in allowed to surely reach an ignition target to positively ignite it. SOLUTION: In an igniter for a gas grill, a tubular burner 4 is horizontally disposed in the side of a roasting chamber having a grill disposed in a grill casing 1 and an ignition plug 6 and an ignition target 7 are disposed so as to sandwich a path for fuel gas supplied from the flame hole 5 of the burner 4. An inclined guide surface 8 wide in the direction parallel to the flame hole 5 of the burner 4, and inclined more toward the ignition plug 6 as it goes toward the blow-off direction of the fuel gas is provided in the path for the fuel gas. An end edge in the blow-off side of the fuel gas of the inclined guide surface 8 is used as the ignition target 7 opposed to the end of the ignition plug 6.
