PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilating system for a kitchen capable of highly- efficiently removing fume containing smoke and oil from a space above a cooking appliance in cooperation with a kitchen appliance installed situated above a cooking appliance. SOLUTION: This ventilating system comprises an intake part 110 mounted on a ceiling near a place where a kitchen hood 20 is installed, an exhaust duct 120 to intercouple an intake part 110 and a ventilating cylinder 20 for a building, a ventilating fan 130 mounted on the exhaust duct 120, a fume capturing means 140 mounted at a ceiling near the intake part 110 so that fume from a cooking appliance 30 is captured by the intake part 110 by jetting air toward the intake part 110, and an air feed part 150 provided with an intake fan 151 and intercoupling an intake port 152 and the fume capturing means 140.
