The insole consists of an elastomer foam layer (1), impregnated with a deodorant preparation and covered with a layer (2) of leather, textile, natural or synthetic material in contact with the wearer's foot. The deodorant preparation is based on alum or aluminum, zirconium or zinc salts which can be mixed with the elastomer foam material prior to polymerisation or solidification, when the covering layer can also be applied to it. The elastomer foam and covering layer, having a combined thickness of e.g. 4 mm, can be pierced with holes to improve ventilation.
