PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially manufacturing L-ribose that is useful as an intermediate for medicines and agrochemicals in high yield efficiently. SOLUTION: In the presence of the cell bodies and/or their treated product of a microorganism that can isomerize L-ribulose to L-ribose in Microbacterium or Stenotrophomonas, L-ribulose is isomerized to L-ribose and the accumulated L-ribose is collected.
