PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely inhibit reproduction when a user is required even a recording medium whose type is not dealt with a view limit function. SOLUTION: A system control part 5A inhibits the reproduction in a disk reproducing part 2 in spite of whether or not a disk 1 set in the disk reproducing part 2 is a DVD dealing with the view limit function when a user setting level registered in a built-in memory is a reproducing inhibit level. On the other hand, when the user setting level is the view limit level decided for the DVD dealing with the view limit function, the system control part 5A controls the disk reproducing part 2 based on a DVD standard including the view limit function if the disk 1 is the DVD, and reproduces presentational information allowed to be reproduced on the basis of the user setting level. When the disk 1 is the video CD (CD), the system control part 5A controls the disk reproducing part 2 to reproduce the CD based on the standard of the video CD (CD).
