PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure which may be made smaller in size and diameter and has the high safety and reliability capable of sufficiently withstanding high-output light beams as well. SOLUTION: A first ferrule 32 which has parallel two polarization maintaining fibers 30a and 30b and are built in with these fibers so as to intersect the polarization directions of their output light orthogonally with each other and a second ferrule 44 which has a first collimating lens 34 common to the output light from both polarization maintaining fibers, an optical path changing element (a transparent tapered plate 36) for returning both of the collimating light to light beams parallel to each other, double refractive parallel plates 38 polarizing and synthesizing these parallel light beams to one beam, a second collimating lens 49 for condensing the synthesized light and an optical fiber 42 for coupling the light beam condensed by the second collimating lens are arrayed in this order.
