The bistatic radar has transmission and reception antennas which are spatially separated over the surface of the earth to be imaged and are arranged on different platforms. One of the platforms moves, generating a relative movement between the antennas and either the reception antenna the transmission antenna or both are designed for ambiguity suppression. The ambiguities are generated by radar echoes which reach the system delayed by one or several transmission pulse intervals.
