The appts. to clean the fixed comb at a comber, to clear the spaces (D) between the tines (8) which are fitted to a holder, has cleaning units (12) which are mounted with movement at the tine holder, to be moved by an operating system through the gaps (D) between the tines (8). The cleaning units (12) slide between the comb tines (8), and are held in a position by springs (F) where they are outside the clear spaces between the tine (8) needed for the combing action. The cleaning units (12) are separate blades, extending into the tine spaces (D), mounted to a rod (13). The rod (13) is held by springs (F) in a fixed position within the comb tine holder, to keep the cleaning blades outside the combing zones between the tines (8). The cleaning operating system is formed by one or more hose units which can be expanded by compressed air, and allowed to deflate.
