PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regularly stably perform the separation and carrying of recording sheets without being influenced by the residual quantity of the recording sheets on a feed tray. SOLUTION: This device comprises a feed tray 5 for stacking recording sheets P, a feed roll 51 for pulling the recording sheet P on the feed tray 5 into an image recording device, a sheet separation member 52 opposed to the feed roll 51, a sheet positioning wall 54 for matching the tip edges of the recording sheets P under the feed roll 51, and a sheet push-up tray 56 supported so that the tip is circularly rocked along the sheet positioning wall 54 to push up the tip part of the recording sheet P from under and bring it into contact with the feed roll 51. This device further comprises an auxiliary push-up member 57 linearly raised and lowered along the sheet positioning wall 54 to bring only the tip of the recording sheet P corresponding to the arrangement position of the feed roll 51 into contact with the feed roll 51 instead of the sheet push-up tray 56.
