PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the reduction of the quantity of a refrigerant and the improvement of the efficiency of a cooling system which alternately performs the cooling of a cold storage chamber and a freezing chamber. SOLUTION: A closed loop is made of a compressor 1, a condenser 2, a first passage control means 10, a first capillary 7, a first evaporator 3, and a first suction line 18, and a second passage control means 11, a second capillary 8, a second evaporator 5, a second suction line 19, and a check valve 20 are connected in parallel with a first passage control means 10, a first capillary 7, a first evaporator 3, and a first suction line 18, and this refrigerator is provided with a temperature detection means which detects the temperature of the pipe of the first suction line 18, and this is equipped with a control means which opens the second passage control means for a specified time when the said temperature detection means detects the temperature below the specified temperature set value during cooling of the cold storage chamber.
