PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of appropriately registering the position of a book cover to a signature gathered bundle with the help of a CCD camera when the former is glued to the latter. SOLUTION: The shape of a spine cover of a book cover 6 fed to a gathered bundle 1 one by one is photographed using a CCD camera 20 and the book cover 6 is positioned by a photographed image and its electric signal and further, the book cover 6 is glued to the spine part of the gathered bundle using the book cover gluing device. This book cover gluing device is equipped with a detection means 30 which is located upstream from a position where the shape of the spine cover is photographed using the CCD camera 20 and detects the edge of the spine cover that passes or a mark, a feed measuring means 40 which measures the feed of the book cover to be fed by means of the edge of the book cover or the mark detected by the detection means 30 and a computer device 50 which issues a photographing command to the CCD camera 20 when the feed of the book cover 6 reaches a position for the shape to be photographed by the CCD camera from the edge of the spine cover of the book cover 6 or the mark.
