The invention relates to a telecommunication terminal (1) and a video module (20) which permit video telephony on an essentially conventional telecommunication terminal. The telecommunication terminal (1) is, in particular, a mobile transceiver, comprising a network interface (5) for transmission of source video signals with video information between the telecommunication terminal (1) and a telecommunication network (10). The telecommunication terminal (1) further comprises a video module interface (15) for transmission of a second video signal with video information between the telecommunication terminal (1) and a video module (20). The video module (20) comprises a camera (40). It further comprises a telecommunication interface (45) by means of which video signals recorded by the camera (40) are sent, with video information, to a telecommunication terminal (1) for transmission to a telecommunication network (10).
