PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a client-server system which shortens the start-up time of a client device. SOLUTION: A web server 1 is equipped with an error code converting means (14) which converts an error code outputted by a 2nd communication means (22) into an error code outputted by a 1st communication means (12) and a client device 2 downloads the error converting means (14) from the web server 1 instead of the 1st communication means S12) and uses the downloaded error code converting means (14) to communicate with an operation server 3. Consequently, the need for downloading by the 1st communication means (12) is eliminated to shorten the total downloading time and the start-up time of the client device is therefore shortened.
