A fabric for lining pockets is a nonwoven fabric of microfilament fibres. The fabric is composed of a melt-spun and drawn multicomponent, continuous filaments, which are laid directly into a web. The continuous filaments comprise a bicomponent material of two incompatible polymers, and have a specified thickness. A fabric for lining pockets is a nonwoven fabric of microfilament fibres. The fabric has a material weight of 40-200 g/m<2> and a shear strength of /-150 N. The nonwoven fabric is composed of a melt-spun and drawn multicomponent, continuous filaments, which are laid directly into a web. The filaments have a thickness of 1.5-5.0 dtex, and are split to give at least 80% continuous microfilaments with a thickness of 0.1-0.8 dtex, which are stabilized. The continuous filaments comprise a bicomponent material of two incompatible polymers.
