PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the break or hall of a master when printed and to rapidly make the master from master stencil paper to meet printing conditions by selecting the stencil paper having a plate wear strength meeting the condition such as using printing sheet, number of the sheets or the like, and engraving the master. SOLUTION: The method for stencil printing having the steps of thermally melt perforating master stencil paper to make a master 10, winding the completed master 10 on the outer peripheral surface of a plate cylinder 1, and pressing a printing sheet S on the master 10 wound on the cylinder 1 to print the sheet S, comprises the steps of holding at least two types of master stencil paper 10a, 10b having different plate wear strength near a plate-making unit 3, selecting either the paper 10a or 10b in response to the printing conditions, and making the master 10 from the selected paper 10a or 10b.
