PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element using a two-terminal non-linear active element. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display element provided with a fetching means for fetching a signal outputted to a signal line, a transfer means for transferring the fetched signal to a liquid crystal, and an acquiring means for acquiring an image by superimosing the signal on the voltage being applied to the liquid crystal, the transfer of the signal to the liquid crystal is controlled by using the two-terminal non-linear active element as the transfer means, varying the voltage being applied to the liquid crystal, and controlling conduction of the two-terminal non-linear active element.
