PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the modeling method of the restoring force characteristics of steel that can model the restoring force characteristics of the steel with sufficient accuracy in designing, and can accurately evaluate the structure performance of a building. SOLUTION: For the elasto-plastic behavior of steel, a model (a so-called bilinear type model) for showing a history curve by two straight lines for indicating an initial elastic inclination and a strain cure one after plasticity is used for performing the modeling of the restoring force characteristics of steel. In the bilinear type model, when the history curve of steel is cured and weakened while amplitude is gradually increased and decreased, respectively, the zero point of the history curve in a steady state is moved to that of a non-steady state for repetition behavior, and the zero point is moved for indicating the history curve so that the steady state is continuously indicated.
