PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for heat treatment of platinum based material, capable of improving the plastic deformability of a platinum based material where fine ceramic particles are dispersed, preventing the damage of a member made of platinum based material for glass manufacture during use, and prolonging the service life of the member. SOLUTION: A platinum based material where fine ceramic particles, such as zirconium oxide particles, are dispersed in an amount of 0.05-3% based on the total mass is heated at 1,300 to 1,600 deg.C for 30 min to 10 h to form a member for glass manufacture.
