PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a genre-dependent vide restriction type tuner that can enhance the user-friendliness. SOLUTION: A view restriction table 11 stores maximum viewing time and view restriction time for all viewing time by each genre, a program information table 12 stores genre information, to which a program broadcast by each channel time belongs and a view time total table 13 stores view times by each genre. Time information denotes viewing start time and final update time, the view start time indicates the viewing start time of a program to be monitored, the final update time depicts the update time of the viewing restriction table, and the view channel number shows the channel number which was viewed when poser of the tuner is turned off.
