<p>The invention relates to a SAW device, and in particular to such a device of higher performance and smaller size compared with the prior art device. A SAW device (10,10') comprises a base material (12,60) having a surface including a continuous annular area (12b) that is at least in part spherical, and a SAW generator (14) provided in the surface area of the base material and adapted to generate surface acoustic waves along the continuous surface area. The SAW generator generates surface acoustic waves only in the direction along the continuous surface area, not in the directions perpendicular to the continuous surface area.</p> |
