Warp-knitted fabric with additional longitudinal and weft yarns, e.g. for geotextiles, has greater stitch density at crossing zones

A warp-knitted fabric with additional longitudinal (2) and transverse (3) yarns that form an open grid, e.g. for geotextile netting, has a greater stitch density in the regions where the yarns (2, 3) cross (Mw1) than in the rest of the fabric (Mw2). The fabric can include a non-woven layer fed at the same speed as the longitudinal yarns. An Independent claim is also included for producing a fabric of this type by varying the draw-off speed (Vw) of the fabric as required while the knitting speed is kept constant.
