MAGNETIC HEAD AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem in the conventional MIG head that a magnetic metallic layer infiltrating to the flanks from a gap part-facing surface is formed and the the accuracy of a gap length becomes worse since the film of the magnetic metallic layer is formed after lancing to determine the head gap width. SOLUTION: The magnetic metallic layer is formed on the gap part-facing surface of a ferrite core and a gap material layer of a first layer is formed thereon. The layers are then subjected to lancing for forming a track from the gap surface. Next, a gap material layer of a second layer is formed and molding glass is fused to face the gap surface, to manufacture the head block.
