In order to overcome the problem that, in the communication system of patent document 1, the administrator of the communication system may want to confirm but cannot promptly confirm performance information about a network element (NE) when the NE is operating as an active system, this communication system is provided with a plurality of communication devices and a network monitoring device. One of the communication devices is connected, together with other of the communication devices, to the network monitoring device. The communication device constitutes a redundancy configuration with the other of the communication devices and outputs, upon the occurrence of a prescribed event, prescribed information to the network monitoring device about what the communication device measured when performing a prescribed operation as an active system. The network monitoring device monitors a redundancy system for switching the plurality of communication devices between an active system and a standby system. The network monitoring device displays prescribed information about one of the communication devices when the communication device operates as an active system.
