PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity, high Dmax and high-contrast gradation and excellent in black spot resistance and shelf stability and an image forming method. SOLUTION: The photographic sensitive material contains at least one compound of formula 1 (where R11-R13 are each H or a monovalent substituent; and X11 is an electron donative heterocyclic group, cycloalkyloxy, cycloalkylthio, cycloalkylamino or cycloalkenyl).
