PURPOSE: A method for detecting a film mode is provided to remove the trembling of a screen by changing DVD(Digital Versatile Disk) or DTV(Digital TV) images into progressive scanning images. CONSTITUTION: An operator acquires an absolute value of a pixel difference between two fields separated as a determined time interval(205). The operator adds the absolute value to every pixel, and acquires intermediate data values(206). The operator performs a limit process for values over a threshold value among the intermediate data values(207). The operator filters the acquired values(208). The operator calculates a power of filtered signals(209), and detects a film mode(210).
