PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of stopping an engine for a long time without suddenly changing a temperature of the conditioned blow-out air to keep a comfortable state. SOLUTION: An air control unit 8 determines a minimum target blow-out air temperature (TA0-A) for keeping a comfortable state for an occupant when an engine 2 is stopped, so that the water pump voltage VWP is raised by one V every time when the blow-out temperature T of the air becomes lower than the temperature (TA0-A) to increase a flow rate of the cooling water by a predetermined value, after the water pump voltage VWP becomes a predetermined value (12 V), an air mix door 42 is controlled every time when the blow- out temperature T becomes lower than the temperature (TA0-A) to increase a rate of the air passing through a heater core 41 by a predetermined value, and after the air passing a bypass passage 44 becomes zero, the blowing capacity of a centrifugal blower 12 is lowered by a predetermine value every time when the blow-out temperature T becomes lower than the temperature (TA0-A).
