Carrier materials and a solvent are provided as separate entities for admixture shortly before use to provide a carrier phase which, after dispersion in an outer phase, gives dispersion forming particles or implants. Preparation for the formation of particles and implants comprises carrier materials and a solvent as separate entities, with the carrier materials being mixed with and at least partly dissolved in the solvent shortly before use and the mixture obtained being dispersed in a non-miscible or partly non-miscible outer phase to provide a dispersion which forms particles or implants in or on the body.
