PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color inspection method which can objectively and accurately decide whether or not a sample color is acceptable. SOLUTION: This color inspection method has a sample color measuring stage (S16) for numerizing the color of a sample with a hue parameter, a lightness parameter, and a saturation parameter, a sample color display stage (S18) for displaying the coordinate position of the sample color on a color graph of a hue parameter, a lightness parameter, and a saturation parameter which can be displayed on a display according to numeric data of the hue parameter, lightness parameter, and saturation parameter obtained at the stage (S16), and an examination pass decision stage (S20) for deciding whether or not the coordinate position of the sample color on the color graph is in a specific pass area determined on the color graph by using sample colors in advance and then judging that a sample color is acceptable when in the pass area and not rejected when not.
