PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter which reduces an electromagnetic wave and infrared ray emitted from a picture display device, and which beautifies displayed colors, and to provide a display panel using same. SOLUTION: This optical filter is obtained by forming on a transparent substrate a laminated portion which two or more layers of both a transparent oxide layer and metallic layer are alternately accumulated, and a visible light absorbing layer containing dyestuff.
