METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ENGINE BLOCK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an engine block which is capable of integrating a liner of an aluminum base material to the engine block made of an aluminum alloy with tight adhesion by a simple and inexpensive method. SOLUTION: The liner is formed of the aluminum base material and a film consisting of metal having a melting point lower than the melting point of the aluminum base material forming the liner is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the liner. This liner is installed at the prescribed point of a die cavity and is cast-in cast by die casting using the aluminum alloy.
