PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbable article such as an incontinence pad, excellent in deodorization performance and leak-proof performance, preventable of the dislodgment of a deodorant, manufactured without soiling the manufacturing lines and products by the deodorant and does not make the skin of a wearing person and wearing implement dirty by the deodorant. SOLUTION: This substantially longitudinally long absorptive article 1 includes a liquid permeable front surface sheet 2, a liquid impermeable rear surface sheet 3 and an absorptive core 4 interposed between the front surface sheet and the rear surface sheet. The absorptive article has a pair of grooves 8 and 8 reaching the absorptive core 4 from the front surface sheet 2 side on both sides of a longitudinal central line P and contains the deodorant between the front surface sheet 2 and the absorptive core 4 or within the absorptive core 4. The average basis weight of the deodorant is smaller in the segments where the grooves 8 are formed than in the segments where the grooves 8 are not formed.
