PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for receiving raw tea leaves, capable of sufficiently cooling the raw tea leaves in a storing container to improve the quality of the raw tea leaves fed to a raw leaf-tending device. SOLUTION: This apparatus for receiving raw tea leaves, installed in the interior of a pit formed on a floor of a tea-manufacturing factory in the state in which at least a lower part side thereof is buried, and having the storing container with a blast-device installed in the outside of a side wall, and an endless receiving conveyor installed in the lower part, is characterized in that the interior of the pit in which the storing container is installed is set in a nearly sealed state, and cold air is fed into the sealed-state interior of the pit from an air conditioner comprising indoor equipment and outdoor equipment. The pit is formed into the nearly sealed state by arranging a lid body on the upper part of a side wall of the storing container. For example, the indoor equipment is arranged at the vicinity of an air-introducing opening for introducing outside air into the sealed-state pit, and the air conditioner is operated by relating the air conditioner to the blast device.
